An Untold Story (008)

5:59 PM, the watch displayed. Cautiousness and anxiety struck him simultaneously. During the next 60 seconds, he could not help but stare the door. “Heavy traffic she must be in” he whispered and believed this for next 23 minutes till he dropped a text. “Hey. Where are you? I’m at BBN.” “Shit. I’m so sorry. I am with a friend. I totally forgot.” was the reply.

He was dumbfounded.

Exactly at the same time, his order: meal for ‘two’ got delivered. Blankly he looked at waiter, passed on the card for swapping and left.

Maybe the distance had amplified, maybe he had expected too much!

An Untold Story (007)

Blue ticks on Whatsapp were an indication that message was already read. 210 seconds was the delay in her next message. “How had you been doing? Long time” read the text. Before he could revert, another message followed. “Want to meet. Free tomorrow?” “Yes” “Great. Then 6 PM, BBN CP. See you tomorrow” And so the only conversation between ‘them’ that happened after a month ended.

‘Best Friends’ the poster hanging in front of him displayed. He stared skeptically.

An Untold Story (006)

Diwali was over and darkness at 06:30 PM symbolized an outset of winters. Through the gloom, Whatsapp’s white light flickered. “Hey” read the text. The message reminded him of their first conversation from last winters. Dumbfounded, he barely uttered anything then and had just smiled. Today was a different day with a different context however his expressions harmonised. Equally dumbfounded he reverted back with a smile “Hey”.

An Untold Story (005)

It had been almost a month now and Diwali had arrived. Although, soon after that day, things normalized yet something went missing between them. They hardly go out now. Whataspp indicator which once used to flash non-stop suddenly stopped blinking. Text smileys almost vanished and even the free Airtel calls dropped. Today, when entire nation was exchanging wishes, he quietly scrolled through their saved conversations. All he wanted was to decipher the missing warmth!

An Untold Story (005)

They had first met during last winter at a mutual friend’s wedding. Perhaps it was for the first time that computer science engineering helped him as he used all the concepts learned in past 3 years and created a unique “programmed” wedding gift. Everyone including Amyra, who was an engineer too, was impressed. Soon they got introduced via their mutual friend and ever since then, their friendship propagated exponentially. Today, she was his world!

An Untold Story (004)

“Your value can’t be quantified!” she said. “And you very well know how much I owe you for everything since the”. “It’s okay yaar.” He interrupted her. Already having inferred everything from her expressions in last couple of minutes, he smiled and added “Come on, cheer up! I never wished for an explanation. My fault it was. Let’s chuck this futile discussion”. She was his priceless asset and he very well understood it!

An Untold Story (003)

“Aah! Leave it. Look what I got for you: Chocolates!” He attempted to break this awkwardness but failed. So many sudden emotions probably overpowered her love for chocolates. She continued wondering what to ask and he continued wondering what will be asked!

An Untold Story (002)

This came as a surprise to her. Although his actions lately had become pretty amiable and were being consciously overlooked by her but somehow today his words were not at all ignorable. The demarcating line between ‘friendship’ and ‘love’ is too narrow and probably he crossed it all by himself. Bewildered she could only manage to say “but” and a long silence followed.

An Untold Story (001)

“You know what? Leave it. You won’t ever understand your value in my life”. These were the only lines which he could utter. He had been trying since long to make her friend understand how much he loves her but somehow being inexpressive failed him.

And so we met and became friends!

How to start and where to end, there are things which were left to append!
It started off as a zap with your number getting saved on Whatsapp!
I’m still unable to figure out an explanation, the closest being it was a persuasion!
The first impression of you was a fad which caused happiness out of content it had!
Our next encounter was totally formal nevertheless I was not even rated as normal!
Subsequently I tried remembering your name but somehow it was for me a tough game!
Accordingly I addressed you via a nickname, never knew it would ignite such a flame!
Gradually we started to talk but the game changer was that metro walk!
I figured out a friend in you but was not courageous to approach out of blue!
I still don’t remember how we became friend; inadvertently though it turned a good blend!
Although we just share few common likes, still we rope in with some solid strikes!
It's a wish that this friendship sails and somewhere down the line it turns into a precious tale!

Story of my life!

One fourth life almost gone still I’m searching the place where I belong!
Becoming a cricketer was my dream which somehow never had any beam.
Then slowly came secondary where grooming up as doctor became primary.
However this subsided because of a forgery and primary got swapped with tertiary!
This was the time when I urged a transformation and someone suggested a solution,
My career took a turn and an engineer me was upfront!
It was in June 2008 when proposition of an integration led to another alteration,
And within no time I witnessed collaboration.
An engineer me bundled with a managerial me and I started realizing true me!
This time I thought my dwindling career finally came at a halt.
Who know it was merely a beginning of another part which I am following with a chart!
This is my story which I currently strive,
Hope it is leading to a road fruitful and worthwhile!

Let’s be friends!

We don’t know each other much as we've met sometime before 3/4 months as such,
We don’t tune with each other as we both are literally opposite of one another.
We don’t have similar personalities: An extrovert you bullying an introvert me,
We don’t slurp similar drinks: Cold Coffee a love of yours is totally despicable to me.
We don’t even understand abbreviations on same page: ATM is different for you and me.
Yet we take a same route back home. Yet we eat same food. Yet we run same OS on our phones.
I may never tune in to the same frequency yet you appreciate this fact with decency.
I may never like your favorite political party yet you ignore the fact during a party.
We might be opposite in one way or the other yet there are things that bond us together.

Therefore I say “Let’s be friends” by keeping this “Stranger mode on” at bay!
